Juice Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing organisation in Cirencester in their search for a Credit Controller to join its finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced credit control professional who enjoys building customer relationships and taking ownership of their accounts. Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, you will help ensure payments are received within agreed terms, resolve queries and maintain accurate customer records.
DAY TO DAY:
- Contacting customers primarily by telephone, as well as email, to secure payment dates
- Following up outstanding balances in line with the company’s credit control procedures
- Maintaining accurate notes of customer conversations and payment commitments
- Providing copy invoices and proof of delivery documents when required
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes for maintenance customers
- Submitting invoices and credit notes through customer portals
- Posting cash receipts and maintaining accurate account records
- Working closely with the sales team to investigate and resolve customer queries and disputes
- Issuing credit account application forms and following up completed documentation
- Carrying out credit checks through credit assessment agencies
- Providing updates on outstanding debt at review meetings with the Assistant Finance Manager
- Supporting accounts receivable and other finance activities during holiday periods
WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE:
- At least two years’ experience in credit control or a similar position
- A confident telephone manner and strong written communication skills
- The ability to follow up payments professionally while maintaining positive customer relationships
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and an understanding of confidentiality
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to resolving queries
- Confidence taking ownership of customer accounts and understanding their individual requirements
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work closely with sales and finance colleagues
- A minimum of five GCSEs at grades A–C / 9–4, or equivalent
- Flexibility and a willingness to support the wider finance team when required
