Juice Cheltenham is delighted to be supporting a fantastic client in the search for a Forklift Driver, based in Tewkesbury. Please note, this role is a temporary to permanent opportunity, and you will need to have reliable transport due to the hours required for the role.
Hours
Full-time, minimum 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern. Early starts, late shifts, weekend working and overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
About the Role
This is a key role in our clients distribution chain, linking production with the transport team and helping ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and loaded safely. You’ll work across areas including the chilled warehouse, glass fridge, factory floor and external loading bays, supporting the flow of products to wholesale customers and outlying depots. This is a physical, temperature-controlled environment and requires a high level of accuracy and pride in doing things right.
Day to Day
- Operate forklift trucks and warehouse equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and training.
- Load, unload, move, and store products within warehouse and dispatch areas.
- Pick, prepare, and check customer orders accurately against instructions and documentation.
- Complete stock replenishment, rotation, and inventory-related tasks to maintain product availability and minimise waste.
- Carry out vehicle loading and unloading activities, ensuring products are secured and handled correctly.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with housekeeping standards.
- Follow all health and safety, quality, and operational procedures at all times.
- Report incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly and support corrective actions where required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to meet operational targets and service requirements.
What We Would Like To See
Essential
- Valid forklift truck licence (Counterbalance and/or other relevant categories where required).
- Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock and documentation.
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work, including shift patterns and overtime where required.
Desirable
- Experience within FMCG, food production, chilled storage, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
- Additional warehouse equipment certifications (PPT, Reach Truck, VNA, etc.).
- Knowledge of stock control systems and warehouse management processes.
Working Environment
- Physical role involving manual handling and prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment.
- Work may be carried out in temperature-controlled, warehouse, production, yard, or loading bay environments.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn where required.
- Adherence to site hygiene, quality, and safety standards is essential.
