Juice Recruitment is delighted to be supporting our client in their search for a Health and Safety Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe working environments across multiple engineering sites and projects.
You’ll work closely with Contracts Managers, championing safe practices, carrying out site audits, and driving a strong culture of compliance and wellbeing throughout the business.
DAY TO DAY:
- Providing expert health and safety guidance to Contracts Managers across active projects
- Conducting regular site audits and inspections of engineering works
- Identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing corrective actions
- Investigating incidents and near misses, producing detailed reports
- Maintaining up-to-date health and safety documentation (RAMS, COSHH, etc.)
- Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings on site
- Ensuring compliance with current legislation, HSE guidelines, and industry standards
- Liaising with external bodies such as auditors, clients, and HSE representatives
- Supporting the development and delivery of internal H&S training programmes
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Experience within a health and safety role in construction or building services
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
- Confident working independently with regular multi-site travel
- Proactive and detail-focused
- Strong problem-solver with a practical approach
- Confident in engaging with site teams and senior leadership
- Passionate about promoting a positive safety culture
Desirable
- Previous experience of carrying out site audits and writing formal reports
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and Safe Systems of Work
- Membership with IOSH or another relevant professional body
