Junior Clerk
Juice Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly regarded Barristers’ Chambers, who are looking to recruit a Junior Clerk to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with strong administrative and communication skills, who is looking to build a long-term career within clerking. The role offers exposure to a fast-paced legal environment, working closely with barristers, solicitors and practice managers.
DAY TO DAY:
- Managing Counsel diaries, taking bookings and ensuring all details are accurately logged on the chambers’ case management system
- Carrying out conflict checks and keeping Counsel fully informed of new and updated bookings
- Liaising with solicitors, Counsel and Practice Managers to resolve diary clashes and arrange suitable cover where required
- Monitoring upcoming hearings and conferences to ensure papers are received on time and deadlines are met
- Supporting the allocation of work by matching instructions to Counsel availability, experience and expertise
- Assisting with fee negotiation, quotations, and the accurate recording of agreed fees
- Supporting billing processes and time recording to ensure prompt and accurate invoicing
- Attending events and meetings
WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE:
- Previous experience in an administrative, coordination or office-based role (legal or regulated environment desirable but not essential)
- Confident and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work calmly under pressure
- An interest in the legal sector and a desire to develop a career within clerking
AND FOR YOU:
- Full-time, in office, permanent role (Monday to Friday)
- Full training provided, including systems and clerking processes
