In this role you will be handling new client enquiries and providing legal and administrative support while developing towards a fee-earning role.
DAY TO DAY
- Making initial contact with prospective clients via phone or video call
- Carrying out merits screening, limitation checks, funding discussions, and conflict checks
- Preparing fee estimates, onboarding letters, terms of business, and managing ID/AML processes
- Maintaining enquiry and matter spreadsheets
- Conducting legal research
- Preparing bundles and carrying out basic drafting
- Using spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting
- Coordinating with counsel’s clerks, preparing briefs, instructions, and hearing notes
WHAT WE’D LOVE TO SEE
- A legal degree or masters
- Experience working in a client service role
- Previous experience working in a legal environment would be desirable
- Exceptional telephone communication skills, with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- A strong work ethic with the ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge
- Insightful, analytical thinking with strong judgement
- Highly organised, efficient, and adaptable
- Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Comfortable supporting clients through sensitive or emotional situations
- Understanding of court procedures is desirable
