At Juice Recruitment, we are delighted to be supporting a prestigious and well-established educational organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified health and safety professional to take ownership of an organisation-wide health, safety, fire safety and compliance strategy within a complex and diverse environment. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting strategic risk management initiatives.
The Role:
As Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will act as the organisation's lead specialist and competent person for health and safety matters. Working collaboratively with senior leaders, department heads and operational teams, you will drive best practice across all areas of the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the organisation's Health & Safety and Fire Safety strategy.
- Advising managers and stakeholders on all aspects of health, safety, compliance and risk management.
- Ensuring policies, procedures and operations remain fully compliant with current legislation.
- Managing accident investigations, incident reporting and regulatory notifications.
- Overseeing health and safety inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Delivering training and promoting a positive, engaged safety culture.
- Supporting organisational risk management processes and maintaining risk registers.
- Preparing reports for senior leadership and governance committees.
- Managing the health and safety budget and driving continuous improvement projects.
About You
We are keen to speak with experienced health and safety professionals who can demonstrate:
- Chartered membership of IOSH, CIEH or a comparable professional body.
- Degree-level education or equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience in a senior health and safety role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and its practical application.
- Proven experience influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication, presentation and report-writing skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- The confidence to lead, advise and challenge where appropriate.
- A calm, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
Experience within the education sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
