This role will suit a hands-on Legal Counsel with strong SaaS contracting expertise, excellent commercial awareness and the ability to operate with pace in a dynamic technology environment.
Day to Day:
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will take the lead on commercial contracting across the business, providing practical, solutions-focused advice to key stakeholders including Sales, Customer Success, Product, Operations and Senior Management.
This is a standalone, high-impact position, with approximately 80–90% of the workload centred around drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial SaaS agreements. You will play a critical role in supporting revenue generation, ensuring compliance, and enabling the business to scale effectively.
Key Responsibilities

Lead on drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including SaaS subscription agreements, MSAs, DPAs, partnership agreements and renewals

Provide clear, commercially driven legal advice to support client onboarding, contract closure and customer growth

Support wider corporate, company secretarial and general advisory matters as required

Advise internal teams on contractual risk, regulatory considerations and appropriate mitigations

Maintain and refine contract templates to ensure alignment with evolving commercial, legal and data protection requirements

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient contract governance and operational effectiveness

Balance strong risk management with a pragmatic approach that supports commercial outcomes

Key Skills & Experience

UK-qualified solicitor with 5+ PQE in commercial, technology or software-related legal work

Proven experience in the technology or SaaS sector

Strong understanding of commercial contracts, IP law, GDPR and regulatory compliance

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders

Comfortable managing a high volume of contract work with accuracy and efficiency

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to navigate complex legal and commercial issues

Extensive experience working with SaaS contracts, ideally gained within fintech or a high-growth tech environment
