As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in leading the brigade and maintaining exceptional food quality across all dining areas. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth kitchen operations, motivating the team, and upholding the highest standards of presentation, hygiene, and efficiency.
DAY TO DAY:
- Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen management and service delivery
- Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team in a positive and professional environment
- Assist with staff training, supervision, and rota planning
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Support menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Assist in managing food costs and reducing waste
- Ensure dishes are delivered to the highest standards across all service areas
- Support stock ordering, stock control, and supplier management
- Assist with stock takes and kitchen administration
- Ensure compliance with all Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and kitchen safety procedures
- Work closely with the senior team to ensure excellent communication across departments
- Handle guest feedback professionally and support exceptional customer experiences
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Have experience as a Sous Chef or be a strong Chef de Partie ready for the next step
- Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills
- Have a genuine passion for fresh food and creative cooking
- Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Remain calm under pressure and lead by example during busy services
- Possess strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance standards
